Let’s discuss international carbon credits. With voices of the Global South and experts, this workshop aims at putting in perspective the different aspects of this tool which is gaining traction at the European and international level. In order to cut down domestic emissions, countries and companies use this tool to achieve their climate obligation but often at the expense of local communities.

These various methods and markets create an era of significant risks not only for climate action but also for food security, as the land pressure they exert leads to land concentration, land grabbing and human rights violations.
