Amnesty International is a global movement of people fighting for human rights. It acts on behalf of victims of violations of these rights, based on impartial research and international law. The organization is independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest, or religion.

Climate change represents one of the most urgent and pervasive threats to our human rights: environmental defenders threatened and sometimes murdered for their work, pollution jeopardizing our right to health, and environmental disasters leaving thousands homeless and/or without food. The measures taken by governments and businesses to limit global warming and protect us from its consequences remain largely insufficient. Through its presence in the Climate Coalition, Amnesty International aims to leverage its power for a just and climate-respectful society in Belgium and around the world.

There will be no human rights without climate justice, and no climate justice without human rights.
