For the first time, Eurogroup for Animals is joining the Climate March.

The climate crisis affects every living being on Earth, and our food system is part of the problem. Intensive farming keeps billions of animals in systems that cause immense suffering, while also contributing to the climate and nature crises.

Livestock production generates more than 65% of the EU’s agricultural greenhouse gas emissions. Intensive animal farming also depends heavily on fossil fuels and contributes to biodiversity loss, habitat destruction, water pollution and damage to ecosystems and wild animals.
And it goes both ways. Rising temperatures mean more heat stress, disease and serious welfare risks for farmed animals.

The way we treat animals and the way we treat our planet are connected.

There are ethical, scientific, environmental and economic reasons to end animal suffering and build a more sustainable food system, with stronger animal protection and more plant-rich, meat-reduced options.

This October, we are marching for animals, for the planet and for our future.
Intensive animal farming comes at a huge cost, both to billions of animals and to our climate.
