Who are we?
A group of grandparents from French-speaking Belgium, driven by ecological challenges and the bond that connects us to our grandchildren. Inspired by other grandparent groups around the world, we are concerned about the risks of deteriorating living conditions on Earth.
Why climate?
The scientific evidence is clear. The “Summary for Policymakers” from the IPCC published in late October 2014 confirms the steady and continuous increase in greenhouse gas emissions. It reiterates once again that the cost of inaction will far exceed that of the investments needed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Our goal: To give our descendants a chance to live on Earth in a climate and environment conducive to the renewal of life.
Our means and actions:
Promote the values of moderation, solidarity, intergenerational and international kindness (North/South), and align our ways of living.
Develop actions that inspire our grandchildren to appreciate and respect nature and to be aware of ecological issues.
Advocate for political decisions, especially during this period of preparation for the Paris summit on climate change in December 2015.
